The world premiere of The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie is this Sunday, November 14, at Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. The movie opens in theaters next week, on November 19! The official movie web site can be found here.
Sideshow Collectibles offers Shawshank prints

Sideshow Toy -- who produces official collectibles for The Lord of the Rings and other films -- is offering very limited edition prints of the new Shawshank artwork done by Drew Struzan. The prints themselves run between $375 and $650, but are absolutely gorgeous and so fitting of the film. They were commissioned for the special edition DVDs, which will be released on Oct 5. The Shawshank DVD is on pre-sale at Amazon in a Special Two-Disc set or a Deluxe Limited Edition.

A press release earlier today from Nickelodeon announced that 20 new episodes of SpongeBob Squarepants are coming in January! SpongeBob's feature film opens November 19.

Congratulations to the crew of Carnivale for taking home 5 awards at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards on Sunday! Carnivale won in the following categories: Art Direction for a Single-Camera Series: "Milfay (Pilot)", Cinematography for a Single-Camera Series: "Pick A Number," Costumes for a Series: "Milfay (Pilot)," Hairstyling for a Series: "After the Ball Is Over," and Main Title Design.

The Digital Bits reported this morning that HBO has released details about Carnivàle's Season 1 DVD set...
HBO's just announced the DVD release of Carnivale: The Complete First Season. Look for that on 12/7 (SRP $99.98), including a behind-the-scenes featurette on the production design, a Museum of TV and Radio panel discussion with the cast and crew, 3 audio commentaries with series creator Daniel Knauf and executive producer Howard Klein, episode previews and re-caps, and more.
Amazon and other locations should start the pre-order on the DVD set soon. Look for a link here as soon as that happens!
Online "Tubey" Awards

Clancy has received a nomination for Favourite Actor in Television Without Pity's "2004 Tubey Awards." The online TV review site's awards can be voted on by site members (registration is free!), and voting ends August 8. Also nominated are SpongeBob in Best Cartoon category, and Carnivale in the Best Drama, Best New Show, Best Performance by an Inanimate Object (the fetus in a jar), and several other categories.

Carnivàle gets 7 Emmy nominations!

Carnivale has been nominated for seven Emmy awards in the following categories: Outstanding Art Direction, Casting, Cinematography, Costumes, Hairstyling, Main Title Design, and Makeup. A well-deserved congratulations to the crew of the series for their hard work! The Emmy Technical Awards are given out on September 12, and the Emmy telecast is on Sunday, September 19.
HBO's "The Buzz" Features Carnivàle

Keep an eye out between HBO movies and shows for a short segment called "The Buzz" which features the Carnivale MTR event from March. They intersperse video from the event panel of cast members and producers talking, with clips from the show and from the behind-the-scenes promo that aired last year. The spot is only a few minutes long, unfortunately, but its good to see HBO promoting the series! The show is filming now, and premieres in January.
Shawshank DVDs Announced for Oct 5

Looks like there is even more new Shawshank artwork. From The Digital Bits:
Warner Bros. has announced the anniversary DVD re-release of The Shawshank Redemption for 10/5 in two separate versions. First up is the 2-disc The Shawshank Redemption: Special Edition (SRP $26.99), which will include the film in newly-remastered anamorphic widescreen video (1.85:1) with audio in Dolby Digital 5.1. Extras will include newly-recorded audio commentary by director Frank Darabont, 2 documentaries (running about 90 minutes in all), a recent Charlie Rose Show segment, storyboards, a photo gallery, the theatrical trailer, DVD-ROM extras and the Shark Tank Redemption spoof. Also available will be The Shawshank Redemption: Deluxe Limited Edition (SRP $44.99), which will include all of the Special Edition contents plus the film's CD soundtrack and a book about the film's production by historian Mark Kermode.
